Handgun Safety Orientation
Cost: $49 Instruction Time:
1.5 Hours Range Time: 15 minutes
This course is presented to experienced firearm users whose primary
purpose is to apply for a Florida Concealed Weapon/Firearm License.
The course covers a review of Firearm Safety, Ammunition, Principles
of Operating a Handgun and a brief review of Florida Statutes 790.
Participants are required to bring a firearm, appropriate factory
ammunition, eye and hearing protection. |

The "First Steps"
orientation courses are designed for persons
interested in operating a firearm who have very little
or no experience operating a firearm. However,
people with all levels of experience are encouraged to
attend as well as those with significant experience who
wish to refine their "basic 101" skills.
Included in the these courses are the use of the
instructor's firearms, ammunition, eye and hearing
protection.
Firearm safety is the emphasis throughout these
and all courses. |

NRA First Steps Pistol
Orientation

Cost: $65 Instruction
Time: 3.5 Hours Range Time:
30 minutes
This is a "hands-on" basic introduction to the safe
handling, safe operation and safe securing/storage of a
handgun. The course will also cover the basic
parts of semi automatic and revolver handguns, action
classifications and action types, ammunition, shooting
fundamentals, handgun cleaning, range operations and a
brief introduction to Florida Statutes 790.
Completion of this course
will qualify the participant to submit and application
for obtaining a Florida concealed firearm license (CWP). |

NRA First Steps Rifle
Orientation
Cost: $75 Instruction
Time: 3.5 Hours Range Time:
1 Hour
Provides a hands-on introduction to the safe
handling, safe operation and safe securing/storage of a
rifle. Semi automatic, bolt and lever action
rifles will be covered in this course. The basic
parts, action classifications, and rifle shooting
fundamentals will also be covered.
Completion of this course
will qualify the participant to submit and application
for obtaining a Florida concealed firearm license (CWP). |

NRA First Steps Shotgun
Orientation
Cost: $85 Instruction
Time: 3.5 Hours Range Time:
1.5 Hour
Provides a hands-on introduction to the safe
handling, safe operation and safe securing/storage of a
shotgun. Semi automatic, pump and break action
shotguns will be covered in this course. The basic
parts, ammunition selection and and shotgun
shooting fundamentals will also be covered.
Furthermore, moving target acquisition will also be
discussed and included in the range exercises.
Completion of this
course will qualify the participant to submit and
application for obtaining a Florida concealed firearm
license (CWP). |

The "Basic
Shooting" courses are for persons with all
levels of experience including those persons with little
or no experience using firearms. The "Basic"
course includes all of the material presented in the
"First Steps" course, and will include the following:
systematical processing, empirical thinking and
cognitive comprehension to execute expeditious decision
making. Additional classroom and range exercises
will include five different shooting positions and a
concentration on skills development, accuracy and
precision. Participants will also perform a
"scoring" exercise at the completion of the course.
Included in the basic
courses is the use of the instructor's firearms,
ammunition, eye and hearing protection. However,
if you have your own firearm, you are welcome to bring
it with factory ammunition.
Completion of a "Basic
Shooting" course will qualify the participant to submit
an application for obtaining a Florida concealed firearm
license (CWP). |
